"Error During Startup" - Complete Collection + Ultimate Fix Empty "Error During Startup" - Complete Collection + Ultimate Fix

Hi, apologies for this.

So I've installed each expansion and the base game as per the instructions within their respective folders.
I've applied the 1.67 patch. I've copied over the .dll and TS3W.exe files into the game/bin folder for Sims 3 Base
and have applied all the cracks provided by the Ultimate Fix guide.


No luck, sadly. I'm met with this screen:
"Error During Startup" - Complete Collection + Ultimate Fix Sims3110

After all is said and done, my installation folder looks like this. Within the "Games" directory,
we have all the expansions. The game installation is installed under "E:\Games" whereas the
original downloaded .rar and its extracted equal are under: E:\Downloads.

"Error During Startup" - Complete Collection + Ultimate Fix Sims3210

I don't know what I've missed out? When running either Sims3Launcher or Sims3LauncherW, I get
the same above result. When running TS3W.exe I get: "Service initialization failed."

The Manual Patch (here: https://www.games4theworld.club/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v1-67-fix-manual-patch#) is busted, sadly. The links won't cooperate. So I couldn't use that. I feel this may be the problem?

Shame. I tried a number of browsers, finally got the link to register in Chrome. But upon
installing the 1.67 Manual Patch, as above, it still produces the same errors. Either I need
to start over or give up!

Ok. I'm a twit.

Here's what happened, alright? I got impatient and grumpy and just wanted to play the
Sims like a spoilt child.

I took 5 minutes while eating my toast to look through the forums for a fix, and what do
you know, there is one, and it's a damn good guide at that. See here: Error During Startup

I'd like to say thank you to the sheer detail of this forum, and how you all have every
base covered. You're honestly doing incredible work and it's greatly appreciated.

Little byproduct of our most recent change on the Forum (disallowing regular users to edit/delete submitted messages, in most sections). People did not use the "Edit"-button much in the past anyway. Doesn't look aesthetic I agree, and maybe we will un-do this change again at some point, but for now we will be rolling with it.

So did you really get everything working? Maybe something went wrong during your initial install. Because that "Error During Startup" mostly shows up when people try fiddling with uninstalling/reinstalling the game too often.

Sure thing, well again, apologies for the clutter and thanks for your help! I'm thoroughly impressed.

As for getting things working, yup, everything is fine! My C:Drive doesn't have enough space for all the store content but I've seen your post about that and will get to it when I have a chance.

The only snares I came across were caused by:
1. Not applying the manual patch (download link)
2. Sims 3 70s, 80s and 90s stuff was incorrect in the registry

Both my fault, obviously! Otherwise it was completely smooth and simple, as far as these things go. The forums and guides were really so well written, it was difficult to go wrong! I played a tiny bit before bed yesterday and it's perfect.

Thanks again Ghost. I've made a small donation, but will try to contribute a bit more when possible!
