"Archive Header is Corrupt" when trying to run the setup Empty "Archive Header is Corrupt" when trying to run the setup

Post by ashemain on Sat 21 Sep 2019, 20:00

I'm trying to install Realm of Magic and the new update. I have done the interactive instructions and still the setup fails. The setup says it's installing the game (like how it should) and then this message pops up: "An error occurred while decompressing: Archive header is corrupt! Unarc.dll returned an error code: -14  ERROR: this is not a FreeArc archive or this archive is corrupt"
I have also done the troubleshooting options listed on the beginning of the setup but to no avail. Has anyone had this issue or know how to fix it?

Also my game works just fine (so it's probably not a corrupt base game file?) and I have cc

I assume you're using my repack. Troubleshooting guide tells you to run "verify xbin files.bat" and redownload corrupted (crc mismatch) files. So do it.

Like I previously stated, I have already done all steps of the troubleshooter (inluding running the .bat, which said there were no bad files)

Then show me the result. If what you say is true then you didn't download the latest "hash.md5" file and verified some older patch (which you don't need anymore).

Yeah it was verifying the wrong thing. Now it says that both part one and part two of the patch are missing along with realm of magic. I followed the interactive instructions and made a folder and put everything it said in it, so now where do I put it?

Interactive instructions never tell you to create a new folder. It just tells you to put downloaded files in one folder. So just move them to the folder where you keep the rest of my repack.

I ran the .bat again after moving everything back and part 2 is corrupted so I'm gonna re-download it

Thank you for your patience Dedicated to Carlos

Oh and on the side note: you had old "hash.md5" file and you said all files were OK. So I assume you still have some older patch. You don't need it anymore. All files with version in filename can be deleted when you download new ones. So setup, patch (x2) and no-origin-fix. Keep only the newest ones, so with 1.55.108.1020 in name. Wink
